Digital CCTV can pay for itself in a short period of time. By installing CCTV, you will be saving money and teachers' time. This will release funds to allocate on other school priorities.

The CCTV cameras can be viewed through a stand-alone monitor, but we can also network the system through the office computers so viewing is more accessible. For more selective and secure viewing, user name and passwords can be set up on certain computers to restrict access to certain cameras. These may include cameras fitted in washroom areas which, for example, can be administered only by a Head Teacher.

Digital CCTV technology is a vast improvement over analogue, the equipment is neater, smaller and the storage capacity is far greater. If you have an analogue system we may be able to use some of your existing equipment and upgrade it to digital.

Digital CCTV records to a stand-alone hard drive; these vary in storage capacity depending on how many cameras you have and the recording resolution. Typically, hard drives have the capacity for taking 4, 8 or 16 cameras and multiples thereof and it is always best to leave space to add extra cameras at a later date.

The clarity of the digital recording during playback has vastly improved over the last few years. This, combined with easy accessibility for finding footage, has proved to be a powerful tool in identifying the perpetrators of criminal acts and anti-social behaviour. Remote Access

With the improvement of broadband connection speeds, technology has moved forward to allow live video streaming down your broadband connection. By installing digital CCTV, you are able to securely access and view any one of your cameras, remotely on line, from any computer from anywhere in the world! To achieve this you would need to install a stand-alone broadband connection, this would be connected to a secure ISP, which could then be accessed with user name and password.

Installation

The location of the equipment, cabling and cameras are vitally important. With our knowledge and expertise we will advise on the best location for these. If the equipment is not installed correctly the images could be blurred, or the equipment might fail completely, resulting in the loss of what might be valuable evidence.
